Being a social project, Jankalyan Blood Bank is celebrating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekanand. For this, we have have undertaken a project, ‘Anemia Detection Program.’

To know the anemia status of women in the Rural as well as Slum areas of the city and also to treat it properly is the main goal of this project.

For this we have selected 30 villages in the peripheral areas of Pune and 20 slum areas in the Pune city. At these locations the following activities are supposed to perform –

  • Hemogram testing
  • Counseling
  • Treatment in the form of tablets and diet guidance to overcome the anemia
  • This project also includes the follow up of the anemic women after treatment and counseling.
  • These tests and treatment is totally free of cost. Among these, 13 camps are already performed and within these camps 1101 women are benefitted.
The project costs around Rs. 10,00,000.
